To my unborn son, Obi
Growing inside, inspiring my art,
You’re my cherished dream, a true work of heart.
Born of love, deep within my soul,
Strong and capable, destined to be whole.
We’re here for you, through every endeavor,
Guiding you always, now and forever.
And here’s to your father, my calm in life’s storm,
Providing all we need, keeping us safe and warm.
I love you deeply, you are the best,
Thank you for making me feel so supported and blessed.
Now here’s to the new moments, both happy and tough,
Here’s to joy, to pain and to love.
L’OBI
( L’obi combines the name ‘Obi,’ which means ‘heart or father's heart’ in Igbo, an African language, and ‘Lobi,’ which means ‘love’ in Surinamese. Both regions are integral parts of my partner and children's history. )

Is a treasure untold, worth more than gold.
I cherish this insight, learned through this view,
The importance for my son, and all boys too.
To have a father’s love, steady and true,
A cornerstone in life, a bond to pursue.
For a boy, a dad who stands by his side,
Is more than a wish, it’s a source of pride.
